A Filipino Comic Book Cook Book

In Sarap, I explore the history behind five staple Filipino dishes I grew up eating and share my mother’s recipes for each one along the way. Exploring Filipino cuisine means having to survey painful Filipino history. At the same time, it is an opportunity to celebrate wonderful examples of Filipino perseverance and tenacity. I digitally illustrated my mother’s recipes to bring them to life.
